VUB is planning to start up a minor in Arabic Language and Culture for the whole VUB student body. Given Arabic is a world language, there are only positive implications in acquiring an academic knowledge of Arabic language, culture, literature and history in today’s global economy. 

Overview:

Year 1 (BA2):
Arabic proficiency I & II (9 ECTS)
Arabic history & culture I (3 ECTS)

Year 2 (BA3):
Arabic proficiency III (6 ECTS)
Arabic history & culture II (6 ECTS)
Arabic language & literature (6 ECTS)

WHY A MINOR?

Arabic is a world language, and helps stimulate multilingualism & multiculturalism

Knowledge of Arabic language, literature, history & culture are important for today’s global economy
